APPF June Regional Training Event – Register Now!
The Association of Pretrial Professionals of Florida is pleased to announce that registration is now open for our upcoming regional training event in Seminole County, FL! This full-day session is tailored for pretrial and court services professionals seeking to expand their knowledge, stay current on emerging issues, and strengthen their effectiveness in serving their communities.
This dynamic training event will feature a diverse lineup of presenters covering critical topics impacting pretrial services and the communities we serve including:
- The Fire Watch – The Fire Watch is a Florida based nonprofit working to educate communities about Veteran suicide prevention, providing insight into recognizing risk factors, intervention strategies, and available resources.
- Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) – MADD’s mission is to end drunk and drugged driving, support the victims of these violent crimes, and prevent underage drinking and other drug use. They will present on their organization’s mission, the resources they offer, and share details about their Victim Impact Panel..
- Gabriel Véliz, The Florida Bar Association – Attorney Gabriel Véliz will be presenting on behalf of the Florida Bar Association on important and new considerations regarding Florida’s Dangerous Crimes Statue and the soon to be implemented “Missy’s Law”.
- Allison Catalfamo, Seminole County Sheriff’s Office – Presenting on Sovereign Citizens, including identifying indicators, understanding behaviors, and safety considerations.
Attendees will gain valuable knowledge on emerging trends, legal developments, and evidence-based practices, while also engaging in meaningful discussions with peers from across the region. This training offers an excellent opportunity to strengthen professional skills, broaden perspectives, and build connections within Florida’s pretrial community.
