The Association of Pretrial Professionals of Florida (APPF) is now accepting nominations for the position of President. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced leader to help guide the Association’s strategic direction, support and strengthen Florida’s Pretrial Services community, and advance the mission of Pretrial Services agencies across the state. The President plays a critical role in representing APPF, fostering collaboration among members and ensuring the Association continues to grow and effectively serve the profession.
Term of Service
The President serves a three-year term.
Nomination Period
Nominations are open effective today and will remain open until the position is filled.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be a member in good standing with APPF
- Preferably have Board of Directors experience (within APPF or another organization)
Candidates may self-nominate or be nominated by a peer.

All nominations will be reviewed by the Nomination Committee, which will make recommendations to the APPF Board of Directors.
Duties of the President (per APPF By-Laws)
The President shall:
- Conduct all meetings of the Association
- Appoint all committees
- Represent the Association in all matters pertaining to APPF
- Exercise all powers and perform all duties incident to the office
- With Board approval, apply to government or private agencies for funds or grants consistent with the Association’s goals
- Serve as the Association’s liaison to the National Association of Pretrial Service Agencies (NAPSA) and maintain contact with the NAPSA Southern Regional Director
- Ensure all books, reports, and certificates required by law are properly maintained by the Treasurer and Secretary
- Shall be a signatory on the Association bank account(s) and will maintain possession of one of the Association debit and/or credit cards.
