PROCLAMATION

PRETRIAL, PROBATION AND PAROLE SUPERVISION WEEK

July 21 – 27, 2019

WHEREAS, pretrial, probation and parole officers are an essential part of the criminal justice system; and

WHEREAS, pretrial, probation and parole officers are corrections professionals upholding the law with dignity, while recognizing the right of the public to be safe-guarded from criminal activity; and

WHEREAS, pretrial, probation and parole officers are responsible for supervising adult and juvenile offenders in the community; and

WHEREAS, pretrial, probation and parole officers are trained professionals who provide services and referrals for offenders; and

WHEREAS, pretrial, probation and parole officers work in partnership with community agencies and groups; and

WHEREAS, pretrial, probation and parole officers promote prevention, intervention and advocacy; and

WHEREAS, pretrial, probation and parole officers provide services, support, and protection for victims; and

WHEREAS, pretrial, probation and parole officers advocate community and restorative justice; and

WHEREAS, pretrial, probation and parole officers are a true Force for Positive Change in their communities, and;

Now, Therefore, Be it Resolved that the INSERT TITLE HERE County Board of County Commissioners, do hereby proclaim July 21-27, 2019 as:
